Today is Gerrit's 24th birthday. I promised him that one day I would blog about how great he is, so today seemed to be an appropriate day to do that. I'll probably embarrass him a little bit and maybe even myself for being so mushy, but he's worth it. So here it goes--a list (though incomplete because I could go on-and-on) of what makes Gerrit so great:-he loves God.
-he loves his family. He's a great brother and son to them and they love him back!
-he loves my family (which means a lot to me!) and they love him back!
-he's a great friend
-he's a hottie. I never tire of looking at him. :)
-he's great at giving compliments (and gives them often)
-he's sensitive toward my feelings
-he's very manly (that's a true statement and one to make-up for the "sensitive" comment)
-he's happy when I'm happy and he's sad when I'm sad..
-he's really funny (and I'm not the only one that thinks so! that's a good sign!)
-he's sentimental
-he still attempts to surprise me, even though I usually ruin the surprise by guessing too much
-he's okay with doing nothing with me
-he's a wonderful listener
-he's very passionate about sports (surprisingly enough, I actually wanted this trait in a husband, so this is great!)
-he wants kids someday and I know he'll be a wonderful dad.
-he takes great care of me. He's always putting my needs first. which brings me to:
-he's very selfless. I can't seem to one-up him in being thoughtful and helpful!
-he plays a mean guitar and has a lovely singing voice
-he's quirky
-he's tidier than I am
-he's prays with me when I'm feeling anxious and is a calming influence
-he laughs at me when I freak out about little things, which makes me laugh
-he attempts to understand me even when I don't make sense to myself
-he's encouraging
-he challenges me to be a better me
-he's just wonderful.
